Chris Brown Speaks Out: Rihanna Dated Drake Just To Hurt Me

As he promotes ‘X,’ Chris Brown continues to speak candidly on subjects we never thought he’d EVER acknowledge. In a new interview, he shockingly admits that he thinks that Rihanna dated Drake just to hurt him!

There’s no arguing that Chris Brown, 25, has made a lot of mistakes in his young life. However, ever since his release from prison, he has been unusually candid about the touchy subjects including Rihanna, 26, and Drake, 28. It’s clear that therapy is doing wonders for Chris, who is a notably calmer person than he used to be. However, in a new interview, he can’t help but admit that he thinks that Rihanna dated Drake just to hurt him! Check it out.




Chris appeared on Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning on Oct. 31 to discuss lawsuits, the fate of the music industry, girlfriend Karrueche Tran, and all things Rihanna.
As he talked about his 2009 assault on Rihanna, he revealed that the reason they got back together is because they’re “cool” — but as the Hot 97 hosts point out, Rihanna recently dated Drake, with whom Chris previously had a longstanding feud. Chris is no longer upset about their having dated, however; “For me, I’m content with who I am so whoever decides to move on and do their thing, that’s cool.”

Chris admits that he used to be “tight” (that is, angry) about it, “but you have to consider I was in the Thug Chris Brown era. At that time, I was just all about running up on dudes,” he said, imitating a gun in his hand.

Laura Stylez, one of the Hot 97 hosts, asked Chris whether he thought that Rihanna dated Drake to make him upset.

“She’s gonna be mad if I say it, but in a way, I do,” Chris said. “Because she wanted to hurt you a little bit?” Laura prodded.

”Yeah, a little bit. It’s understandable. It’s the game. We’re young. Relationships… we do that at that age.”

Rihanna is one of the most independent, strong-willed women in music; it’s hard to believe that she really would have entered a relationship with someone just to annoy her ex, but there’s no denying that she and Chris did share something that a lot of people can’t understand. After all, they did reunite after his violent assault.
Of course, Chris has moved on himself — he’s been with Karrueche for a few years now, and despite having been criticized in the past as being a “side chick,” Karrueche is clearly the real deal for him.
