So Sad: Conjoined Twin Babies Die...

conjoined-twins-death-video-ftr
Conjoined twins Asa and Eli Hamby passed away on Dec. 5 after living for just 33 hours. Asa and Eli, who shared the same body, arms and legs, suffered from heart complications leading to their unfortunate death. The twins’ parents Robin and Michael Hamby posted an emotional video to share the sad news.

Michael and Robin were aware of the risks of giving birth to conjoined twins. Only 35 percent of conjoined twins live for a single day, according to the Daily Mail.
However, that didn’t stop Michael and Robin’s unconditional love for their children.
“Robin got over there and we got to hold them, love on them and sing to them,” Michael says in the video. “I miss them, even though I have only got to be with them 24 hours. Feels like a lifetime. I don’t wish this hurt on anybody.”
Michael and Robin explained that heart complications developed the morning after the twins were born. Their hearts started beating out of sync and their heart rate sky-rocketing to 300 beats a minute, which could not be regulated.

They were rushed to a local children’s hospital, where Robin said “[doctors] did everything they could possibly do for them.”
“I miss ‘em. It’s hard losing two kids at one time. Even though I only got to be with them a little over 24 hours, it feels like a lifetime. I don’t wish this hurt on anybody,” Michael says.
The couple recognizes that they are “with the Lord” now and are resting in peace.
‘They looked so much like Michael… They were just the cutest little things. So, so sweet.” Robin tearfully says.
Our thoughts go out to Robin, Michael, and their friends and family during this difficult time.
