Asisat Oshoala named Africa Women Championship Most Valuable Player

The former Falconets forward has been voted the Most Valuable Player at the 2014 African Women Championship in Namibia

Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala has won the Golden Ball award as the best player of the 2014 Africa Women Championship and second highest goal scorer with four goals.


Compatriot Desire Oparanozie who got Nigeria’s curtain raiser in the final against Cameroon won the top scorer’s award having scored five goals from five matches.

Cameroon  goalkeeper Annette Ngo Ndom won the best goalkeeper award with Nigeria's Francesca Ordega winning the player of the match award.

Asisat also won the MVP at the last under 20 women's world cup.
