Music+ is a converged music streaming and download platform, optimized
for mobile and online access and is socially enabled to accommodate cross-user
activity launched in July. Following its launch, the Music+ app has attracted close
to 1 million registered users; beating US based Beats Music, which was launched
in January, and as at April had acquired fewer than 200,000 followers despite a
massive marketing campaign.
The
app which provides a rewarding experience for subscribers uses a loyalty point
system, allowing users to accumulate points whilst using the service. The
acquired loyalty points entitles users to freebies like concert tickets to
music and comedy shows with the MTN ambassadors, movie tickets, souvenirs, CDs,
among others.
