The original Material Girl is still in high demand — just ask Donatella Versace! The designer tapped Madonna, 56, to take over for Lady Gaga, 28, and front Versace’s Spring 2015 campaign — and the images were unveiled just days after the pop star’s edgy shoot for Interview magazine, where she posed totally topless. The iconic singer, (and mom-of-four!), has had the honor of fronting Versace’s campaigns a total of four times throughout the course of her career.
While she kept her chest concealed for her latest shoot the black-and-white images, (captured by famed photog duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott), still have a sexy, edgy vibe that one might not expect to see from a 56-year-old mom-of-four — but Madonna definitely isn’t your average mom.
The star posed in NYC for the Spring 2015 campaign, and Donatella said that it is her iconic status that makes her a perfect fit for the job. “Madonna is one of the true icons of Versace. I am thrilled to have my friend and the most powerful and directional artist as the face of Versace for Spring 2015,” she said in a release.
Even after decades of working with different designers, the fashion house holds a very special place in Madonna’s heart. “It’s always exciting to be dressed head to toe in Versace and experience first-hand Donatella’s vivid imagination and passion that she has created for this collection,” the pop star said.
